Hi there and thanks for reading a piece of the internet that talks almost exclusively about ME! Hi, I’m Luke. It’s nice to meet YOU. We’ve been tasked with keeping our bios updated with the latest breaking news about our lives. Believe me, I’m not that interesting.

I got my start in radio at 88.7 KWDM at Valley High School. I would have never known about it had the batteries in my Walkman not died and the announcement about radio station auditions went out over the intercom while I was switching to a new set of batteries (true story!). I ended up on the station’s morning show my senior year – a peek into things that were to come, I suppose.

I headed up I-35 to Iowa State University where I continued doing radio. After a few odd jobs along the way, I walked into the Des Moines Radio Group in 1998 and have been here ever since.

I absolutely love live music. I try to attend as many concerts as possible in our area. I found that I love to write about shows as well, so you may see my concert reviews pop up on various radio station websites. I am a big fan of Kelly Clarkson and Dave Matthews Band. It’s not out of the ordinary for me to travel to see either of them. Outside of those two, I am pretty diverse in my musical tastes. I love just about every genre.

I’m passionate about my Iowa State Cyclones, I love my Green Bay Packers, and I am a DIE-HARD Chicago White Sox fan. I am a complete Disney adult. I love all things Disney, but especially the theme parks. If I had my way, I would be at either Disney World or Disneyland every year. I also love Adventureland, Maid-Rites, the Iowa State Fair, building Lego sets, and old-man mall-walking around Jordan Creek Town Center.

I live in West Des Moines and I am so proud to call Central Iowa and KIOA home!

Thanks for taking a minute to learn more about me. If we meet, tell me you read my bio on the website and I’ll give you the greatest high-five you’ve ever had in your life.

World Cup quarterfinals: It’s Messi, Morocco, and 6 teams from Europe. And that’s not unusual

More World Cup teams. Same World Cup story. This edition started with 48 teams; it's now down to eight, with six of those from Europe. And unless Morocco pulls off a series of surprising outcomes over the final two weeks, the champion will come from Europe or South America. Again. As always.
