The original Downtown Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday from May to October, 7 a.m. – Noon in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines. The Downtown Farmers’ Market began in 1976 with just 15 vendors & an average of 200 shoppers. Today, the Market has grown to more than 200 vendors & an average of 18,000 visitors each Saturday during May through October.
