Iowans know a smile goes a long way in difficult times. We can assure one another that when one of us needs help, we’ll stand with you — and share a smile. It’s what Iowans do.

We support Delta Dental of Iowa and their foundation’s COVID-19 relief program that has contributed $500,000 to 128 nonprofits across Iowa working to keep Iowans healthy.

We’re going to lift up the good works of 10 of these nonprofits are doing in Central Iowa to help our neighbors over the next few weeks. Check back every few days for some inspiration. Find out how you can help.

Join Delta Dental and all of us at station help area nonprofits meet these unprecedented needs. Go to deltadentalia.com/smilepower to donate to these organizations directly because your support — and your smiles — matter.

While many nonprofits were focused on pulling together their response to how to deal with the impact of COVID-19, Central Iowa Shelter & Services was prepared with a plan in the event of a pandemic. The CISS team went right to work to shift how they provide shelter and meals to help the growing number of people without shelter, those unsure where they will get their next meal. CEO Melissa O’Neil talks with our morning crew about what CISS is doing to stand in the gaps to help them gain stability.
