Tassel Ridge® Iowa St Croix Barbecue Burger

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground pork
2 tsp ground pepper
1½ tsp kosher salt
1½ tsp dried thyme
burger buns
Tassel Ridge Iowa St. Croix Barbecue Sauce (recipe below)
sharp Cheddar cheese slices
sliced onions
sliced tomatoes
leaf lettuce

Directions:

Combine pork and seasonings in a large bowl. Shape into four burgers. Grill over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes on each side (internal temperature should reach 160F).

Serve on buns with Iowa St. Croix Barbecue Sauce, cheese, onions, tomatoes, and lettuce leaves.

Tassel Ridge Iowa St. Croix Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:

1 cup Tassel Ridge 2008 Iowa St. Croix
½ cup beer
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup molasses
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp cider vinegar
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp kosher salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, 25 to 35 minutes, or until reduced to 1 cup.
