Margie’s Breakfast Bake

Ingredients

  • Two 12 oz. pkgs turkey sausage OR Jimmy Dean Reduced Fat Pork Sausage
  • 3 cups onion/garlic croutons
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 ¼ cups milk
  • ¾ teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 ½ lbs. frozen hash browns (prefer Mr. Dells shredded hash browns)
  • 1 10-oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  • Brown sausage in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
  • Layer croutons, sausage and cheese evenly in greased 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
  • Beat eggs with 2½ cups milk and dry mustard in mixer bowl. Pour over layers.
  • Chill, covered, overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Add generous layer of shredded hash browns.
  • Pour mixture of soup and ½ cup milk over potatoes and sprinkle with last cup of cheese.
  • Bake for 1½ hours.
  • Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Makes 12 servings.
