Iowa winters are typically harsh, with bone-chilling winds and snowfalls measuring well over several feet. Despite these harsh winter conditions, many children are forced to go to school every day without the proper boots, coats, pants or sweaters. You can make a difference by helping children, right here in Central Iowa, by picking up a Shoes That Fit needs slip at any of the below listed locations. Shoes That Fit is a community outreach program that helps serve elementary schools in our community and provides clothing items to kids who are not able to afford them.
You can pick up a Shoes That Fit needs card at the following locations

- Merle Hay Mall (information desk), 3850 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines

- Dewey Ford, 3055 SE Delaware Ave., Ankeny
- Iowa State Bank, any of their 5 Des Moines Locations
Once you pick up a Shoes That Fit needs slip, simply purchase the item listed on the needs slip and return the item and the needs slip back to the location you originally picked up the information! The item will then be distributed to the child! Also, be listening to KIOA for your chance to call in and fill a needs slip. You can also stop by the KIOA studios, 1416 Locust Street, Des Moines, to pick up a needs slip.
