1974 - Chicago is awarded another Gold album, this time for Chicago VII.


1941 - Wilson Pickett is born. He died on January 20, 2006


The Wicked Mr.Pickett had one of the most distinctive voices in the history of rock. Fats Domino and Chris Kenner wrote Wilson Pickett’s biggest hit, Land Of A Thousand Dances. In all, he had 38 songs on the Billboard charts during his career ... most notably, the aforementioned Land, as well as Funky Broadway, In The Midnight Hour, 634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.) and Mustang Sally. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
