A Ukrainian TV host known for his high profile pranks spent the night in jail after jumping on stage as Adele accepted her award for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Vitalli Sediuk, who once tried to kiss Will Smith on a red carpet film premiere, walked toward presenters Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez as they handed Adele her award, GossipCop.com reports. He’s heard in videos saying: “It’s such an honor to receive this award. I love you, Adele.” before walking away.

Grammy Awards security grabbed him backstage and held him until he was hauled off to jail by Los Angeles Police. He was released the next day.

Sediuk has been charged with trespassing and ordered to appear in court March 4.
