Christmas Vacation | 97 min | PG-13
Starring: Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Juliette Lewis, Johnny Galecki, Randy Quaid

In a followup to 1983’s “Vacation” movie, Clark Griswold (Chase) hosts his eccentric family for some at-home holiday shenanigans. Despite his best efforts to have a perfect family Christmas life gets in the way, along with electrical issues and a wild squirrel.

2. Scrooged (1988)

Scrooged | 101 min | PG-13
Starring: Bill Murray, Karen Allen, John Forsythe, Alfre Woodard, Bobcat Goldthwait

Frank Cross (Murray) is in charge of a television station planning a live performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” but he’s more focused on the bottom dollar than the Christmas spirit. You can imagine what happens next, but you’ll be surprised by the hilarious modern twists this adaptation takes.

3. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

The Muppet Christmas Carol | 85 min | G
Starring: Michael Caine, DAve Goelz, Steve Whitmire, Jerry Nelson, Frank Oz

Michael Caine leads a cast of muppets in a more classical retelling of Charles Dickens’ tale of second chances. Where “Scrooged” is fun for an older crowd, the whole family can enjoy this adventure into the past, present and future. Be prepared for one of the scariest Ghosts of Christmas Yet to Come and the cutest Tiny Tim ever.

4. Bad Santa (2003)

Santa has a foul mouth and a drinking problem in this tale of two con men who rob department stores during the holidays. It’s business as usual for Santa and his elf until they run into a suspicious security guard and a lonely little boy who needs their help.

December 5th: Frosty the Snowman (1969)

Frosty the Snowman | 25 min | TV G
Starring: Jackie Vernon, Billy De Wolfe, Jimmy Durante, Paul Frees

There’s something about those animated TV specials that really make it feel like Christmas and “Frosty the Snowman” is one of the best! When a magical tophat brings a snowman to life he and his new friends must outrun a magician trying to ruin their fun. This classic is wonderful for the whole family.
