CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — “Doctor of Soul?”

Aretha Franklin has received an honorary degree from Harvard University — making her a doctor of arts.

The Queen of Soul performed at commencement exercises yesterday in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the Ivy League school is located.

She accompanied herself on the piano as she sang the national anthem.

Others who also got degrees yesterday from Harvard include former president George H.W. Bush and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
