Dear KIOA Listeners,
I know a bunch of you missed it when I announced my “hibernation” the day before Thanksgiving. It was totally my call and management was very supportive of my request to take a leave of absence to rest. After 14 chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer, recent scans have shown I am definitely on the right road to recovery. Wa-Hoo! But the fatigue caused by the treatments and the occasional “Chemo Brain” where I’m lacking focus (ok…more than usual) has lead me to my decision to rest for a few months.
What I need now is to finish my chemo and concentrate on getting well again so I can re-join Des Moines’ Feel Good station in the Spring. So that’s the plan. I will provide weekly updates on the KIOA website as I know you care. There’s no doubt your thoughts and prayers have helped get me this far. So keep Maxwell laughing while I’m away with your phone calls, jokes and observations. It’s the best medicine for all of us!
