Reggie’s Sleepout is one of the most well-known and notable community events benefiting homeless youth in Central Iowa. Started in 2006 by Iowa Homeless Youth Centers, Reggie’s Sleepout works to draw attention to the needs of the homeless and to raise funds for programs that help them. On November 16, 2013, hundreds will sleep out on Johnny Bright Field at Drake Stadium in boxes, tents and sleeping bags. While it can never completely replicate what it must feel like to be homeless, Reggie’s Sleepout does provide some insight into the lives of people who do not have a place to call home. This event is for everyone. Individuals or Groups can register online at www.reggiessleepout.org Camper fundraising participation is encouraged.
