15th Annual AIDS Run/Walk

Join us for the 15th Annual AIDS Walk/Run! This fun 1-mile walk or challenging 5K run winds through the beautiful campus of Des Moines University and the historic South of Grand neighborhood. The event is Saturday, April 11 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Pets, children and families of all ages are welcome on the route. There will be raffle items, face painting, Starbucks Coffee, entertainment from the Isiserettes Drum Corps, and educational and awareness activities along the race course.

Iowa Special Olympics Iowa City Polar Plunge

Plunge teams are recommended to register online. Teams of 10 or more are encouraged. You can recruit a team or be placed on one the day of the Plunge. Prize categories include best costume (individual and team), top individual fundraiser, top online fundraiser (as of Feb. 24) and top “chicken” fundraiser. A post party will be held immediately after the Plunge. Enjoy fun, food, drink, music, drawings and silent auction. Lunch can be purchased for spectators at registration for $5 ages 6+, 5 and under eat for free. The more money you raise, the more great Polar Plunge gear you can earn!
