Iowa Author Fest supports the creativity of our local Iowa authors/artist/musicians in their endeavor to bring their work to reality and promote their written word/art/music to their patrons.
The purpose of holding the Iowa Author Fest is to promote Iowa Authors and to start or continue the networking of Iowa Authors and other associated fields of creativity.

Also we are holding an Essay Writing Contest.

Iowa Author Fest Essay Writing Contest
Open to all Des Moines High School Students tenth through the twelfth grade. The essay will be judged by six local Indie authors and a copy editor. The winners will be awarded their prize at the Iowa Author Fest September 26th, 2015 at Brenton Skating Plaza, Robert Ray Drive in downtown Des Moines at 1:00 pm. by organizer Larry Stumbo during the Iowa Author Fest. Essays will be judged on originality, grammar, and spelling.
Winners will be notified by September 1st, 2015. Prizes awarded will be 1st place: $100 2nd place: $75 and 3rd place: $50.
